A WORD FROM MARVIN
About me, I was raised on Country and Gospel. My daddy
was my greatest inspiration. He played and sang till his last breath took him Home.
Music is my life. It keeps me sane, sooths my soul, regenerates
me when I might be down
MARVIN
A
WORD FROM JOHN
I grew up most of my life in a little small town of Oakhurst California. In the early 50's the town only consist of a little small grocery store, gas station, small post office, and hardware store. Any major shopping required a 50 mile trip into Fresno Calif.
I spent most of my life working in the woods with my Dad falling timber, this was the major industry that kept this little
town alive back then.
I spent about 6 years of my life living in Santa Cruz Calif. My
dad and I got to be a pretty good team working with hot tar roofing. Many times I would be mopping on hot tar to put
another layer of tar paper down, when my dad would drop his roll of tar paper and pull out his note pad and jot down some
words to a Song.
By this time the tar would cool off and cause me to have to remop, you
could imagine my frustration. Now that he has past away I'd give anything to relive those Years. My dad and I
spent many hours playing music together.
Later on, my little brother Marvin, was getting big enough to
reach his little fingers around the neck off my daddys guitar. He persistently kept working at it until he could make a pretty
good sounding cord. This finally developed into a team we were known as the Davis trio.
